The CARP, Inc. Homeless Assessment Center provides a one-of-a-kind triage assessment program, which was developed by Robert P. Bozzone, CEO, CARP, Inc., to identify homeless clients’ needs, provide stabilization services and referral/linkage for continuing care in two phases. Phase I includes assessment and referral/linkage services and Phase II includes residential support and referral services, for hard to place clients, in a DCF-licensed Residential Level IV facility. The program utilizes the services of a comprehensive service campus, so as to add extra value to services provided that would otherwise be cost prohibitive for a stand-alone program, such as medical detoxification, physician and nursing care, psychiatric evaluation and medications management, transportation, a full-service kitchen and cafeteria, residential and outpatient treatment and case management services.

Through the identification of client need and referral/linkage services, the program has functioned as a catalyst that has brought together homeless, substance abuse, mental health and medical care providers, and is recognized by law enforcement as the official drop-off site for the homeless in Palm Beach County. There is no appointment needed and the only criteria for eligibility is that the client is an adult who is homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Office hours operate from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Emergency services are provided 24 hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, 365 days-a-year.
