Full Time Employee Benefits

  1. STATE MANDATED BENEFITS:

  3. SICK LEAVE
    • Employees accrue eight hours per month, beginning the first of the month following achievement of permanent status
    • This benefit accrues throughout the duration of the employees tenure at CARP
    • There is no limit on the maximum amount which may be accrued.
  4. PAID VACATION
    • Vacation Pay (year 1, beginning at permanent status): (8 hours @ month)
    • Vacation Pay ( First Increase beginning year 5,): (10 hours @ month)
    • Vacation Pay (Second Increase beginning year 8,): (12 hours @ month)
    • Vacation Pay (Third & Final Increase beginning year 10 & thereafter): (14 hours @ month)
  5. EMPLOYEE HEALTH INSURANCE:
    • Employees are eligible for CARP'S group plan beginning the first day of the month following six months of full time employment.
      • Interim coverage is available through a major medical plan.  Coverage is not paid for by CARP.
    • Upon eligibility CARP pays the complete cost of a designated single coverage at the rate established by the carrier.
    • Alternative plans are offered.  Employees with five or more continuous years of service may select any plan available at no cost.
    • Employees with less than five years of service may select any plan and pay the additional cost above the plan paid for by CARP.
    • Family coverage is available.  The employee must cover 100% of the cost above the coverage of the employee.
  6. EMPLOYEE LIFE INSURANCE:
    • CARP purchases $50,000.00 life insurance policy for employee @ completion of six months of employment
    • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (ADD) is included
  7. EMPLOYEE 403(b) pre-tax supplemental plan
    • Employee is eligible for participation at date of employment.  Money may be invested from gross earnings and tax is deferred.
    • The maximum contribution is established by the IRS each year in the tax code.
    • 01-05 Years - Maximum percentage of salary = 02% Match Rate = 25%
    • 05-10 Years - Maximum percentage of salary = 04% Match Rate = 75%
    • 10-15 Years - Maximum percentage of salary = 06% Match Rate = 125%
    • 15-20 Years - Maximum percentage of salary = 08% Match Rate = 175%
    • 20-25 Years - Maximum percentage of salary = 10% Match Rate = 225%
    • 25-30 Years - Maximum percentage of salary = 12% Match Rate = 275%
    • 30-35 Years - Maximum percentage of salary = 14% Match Rate = 325%
    • 35-40 Years - Maximum percentage of salary = 16% Match Rate = 375%
    * All change in matching contributions will become effective the first pay period following the completion of the specified years of service
  8. DENTAL INSURANCE
    • Employee is eligible for participation at date of employment.
    • The discount is provided to CARP employees and their families.
    • The program is currently provide through Compbenefits.
    • The employee may obtain information through the CARP HR Department to enroll.
    • The cost is deducted through a payroll deduction plan authorized by the employee.
  9. SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE BENEFITS (pre-tax payments)
    • Employee is eligible for participation at date of employment.
    • The discount is obtained by purchasing products through AFLAC at a pre-tax rate.
    • The employee must meet with the AFLAC representative to enroll in the program.
    • The cost is deducted through a payroll deduction plan authorized by the employee.
  10. CREDIT UNION MEMBERSHIP
    • Employee is eligible for participation at date of employment.
    • The employee qualifies for enrollment into the STATE EMPLOYEES CREDIT UNION by working at CARP.
    • The employee may obtain information through the CARP HR Department to enroll.
    • An authorized payroll deduction is required to join the Credit Union.  An account can be opened for only $50.00.
    • Discounts on borrowing and premiums of savings are provide to members of this credit union.
    • Automobile loans are approximately 3% below the best rate available through a bank.
      Savings plans pay almost 1% above the amount paid through a commercial bank.
      Investment accounts and other services are available with similar benefits.
    • Banking transactions can be completed at any ATM that services the Credit Union (PUBLIX, Banks, etc.)
  11. DIRECT DEPOSIT
    • Employee is eligible for participation at date of employment.
    • The employees pay is deposited directly into a bank account designated by the employee.
    • The employee may obtain information through the CARP HR Department to enroll.
  12. BANKING SERVICES
    • Employee is eligible for participation at date of employment.
    • WACHOVIA Bank offers a variety of discounted banking services to CARP employees who arrange for direct deposit.                       
      Free Checking with minimum qualifications                   
      Discounted banking services on all investment and mortgage matters.
    • The employee may obtain information and sign up at any WACHOVIA bank by producing a CARP pay stub.
  13. LONGEVITY PAY INCREASES
    • Employees serving full-time for 5 consecutive years receive a 2% merit bonus.  This is calculated on their annual salary on anniversary.
    • This bonus shall be available to full-time employees on every anniversary divisible by 5. (5, 10, 15, 20, ...)
  14. EMPLOYEE EDUCATION AND TRAINING
    • CARP Provides in-service training every two weeks to employees in a venue designed to enhance the employees job performance.
    • CARP provides CPR, First Aid, Choke Relief, Infection control, HIV-Aids, & OSHA training on a rotating schedule free to all employees.
    • CARP is an approved provider of CBAPF training.  Employees receive CEU's free of charge for participating in CARP sponsored events.
    • CARP provides for clinical supervision for license-eligible Clinical Social Workers & Mental Health Counselors who qualify.
    • Other benefits include: paid workshops & training, tuition reimbursement policy, payment for obtaining and maintaining licensure, etc.
