Grand Opening of CARP Women’s 12 Step Home

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – January 10, 2020

CARP Women's 12 Step Home

The Board of Directors of CARP (Comprehensive Alcoholism Rehabilitation Programs), Inc. is delighted to announce the Grand Opening of the CARP Women’s 12 Step Home, named “Serenity,” January 31, 2020, from 3-6 PM. The event is free and all supporters of CARP are welcome. Join the Board of Directors for a group photo at 4 PM.

CARP Women's 12 Step HomeCARP was founded in 1972 with a vision to offer affordable housing recovery programs to homeless and indigent Palm Beach County residents suffering from alcoholism and addiction. This vision continues today, as CARP opens its Women’s 12 Step Home to provide a supervised, supportive environment that utilizes a peer-driven 12-step recovery model proven to be effective against addiction.

CARP’s goal is to help break the cycle of hopeless addiction, dependency, and resulting homelessness among less fortunate Palm Beach County residents. For many, CARP is an individual’s last hope, after insurance benefits have been depleted or family members have given up hope.

CARP’s goal is to become self-funded. As money is spent on operations, leadership intends to replenish such funds — to honor past donors while securing CARP’s future as a self-sustaining enterprise. CARP is currently raising funds to build the residences and to fund its first year of operating expenses. Funding for the CARP Women’s Home was provided by the Samuel J. and Connie M. Frankino Foundation, William Groot Foundation, Virginia Wellington Cabot Foundation, Mandel Philanthropic Fund, Cathleen McFarlane Foundation, Lang Family Trust, Park Miller and Patty Dean, and Bill and Mo Maynor DeMott.

Kelly V. Landers, Esq., Board President, expressed his enthusiasm:
“CARP is returning to its beginning, serving the alcoholic and drug addicted underserved, with the initial projects of the men and women’s 12-step homes, and we are thankful to CARP’s community of donors. We ask all who have supported CARP in the past, and all who wish to do so in the future, to join us!”
